

1) Agadez: The buzzing town at the foot of the Aïr mountains, with the famous Great Mosque and Sudanese mud architecture, providing an ideal departure point for tours into the Aïr and Ténéré.
2) Elmiki: The oldest village of the Aïr.
3) Timia: The pearl of the Aïr! This magnificent oasis with its abundance of date palms lies in the heart of the Aïr mountains. The gardens are irrigated by an ancient system of wooden pulleys. The Tuareg gardeners cultivate a great variety of cereals and vegetables. Fruit trees grow in the shade of the palm grove, and one can find grapefruits, oranges and even grapes.
4) Assodé: Many legends recount the history of the first capital of the Aïr.
5) Iférounane: This beautiful village, which abounds in gardens of cereals and vegetables and which has an impressive mud architecture, is a good example of two different ways of life – that of the sedentarised farmers as well as that of the nomadic herders.
6) Arakao: Also known as the crab’s claw, Arakao is one of the most beautiful places in the Sahara, with dunes of rosé and yellow coloured sand.
7) Chiriet: Part of the Aïr and the Ténéré, here you will find exceptional dunes of different coloured sands.
8) The dunes of Temet: The highest dunes of the Ténéré.
9) Adrar Bouss: A Neolithic site of times gone by, where once lakes and forests covered the Ténéré.
10) Djado: It is said that Djado is the end of the world, isolated by the immensity of the Ténéré.
11) Orida: The gigantic stone pillars and arches, eroded by the sand, is a magical place, with a cool spring, and where only the sound the wind cuts through this absolute silence.
12) Séguidine: You will get the change to see the admirable peak of Zoumri, its oasis and salinas. The oasis is inhabited by the Toubou, who lead a tranquil life.
13) Bilma: A place lost in the sands. The Tuareg lead their famous camel caravans there to exchange salt for dates.
14) Fachi: Bit by bit this palm grove becomes visible amidst the sand as one approaches. It is like seeing a mirage.
15) Arbre du Ténéré (The tree of the Ténéré): Visit the place where once the only tree of the Ténéré stood. A metal replica now replaces the original which is housed in the National Museum in Niamey.
